V1 or V2? That Is The Question
There tends to be a lot of confusion over what version MR16DDT are in which car. Below is a guide to what engine is in what car in NORTH AMERICA.
V1 MR16DDT:
2011-2014 Nissan Juke (ALL)
2015-2018 Nissan Juke Nismo RS ONLY
V2 MR16DDT:
2017-2019 Sentra SR Turbo and Nismo
2015-2018 Nissan Juke NON RS Models
Differences between V1 and V2:
This is breakdown of the major difference between both versions of this engine and why some parts are not cross compatible.
V1: Separate turbo and manifold
V2: Single piece Turbocharger and manifold
V1: Traditional Mechanical Diverter Valve mounted to intercooler pipe before throttle body
V2: Electronically controlled diverter valve mount to turbo compressor housing
V1: Two section intercooler pipe from intercooler to throttle body
V2: Single piece intercooler pipe from intercooler to throttle body
V1: Traditional Mechanical Wastegate Actuator
V2: Fully Electronic Wastegate Actuator
V1: Boost controlled by duty cycle driven 3 port solenoid
V2: Boost controlled by computer commanded wastegate position and diverter valve control
V1: 45mm compressor wheel, 42.71mm turbine wheel
V2: 37.32mm compressor wheel, 37.94mm turbine wheel
V1: 9.5:1 Compression Ratio
V2: 10.5:1 Compression Ratio
V1: No EGR
V2: EGR system located between the downpipe and turbo manifold, under the turbocharger, behind the engine
V1: 12-14PSI Of boost, depending on trim level
V2: Climbing rate boost, starting at 10psi, maxing out at 14psi at redline
V1: Standard worm gear clamp to hold piping to throttle body
V2: "c" clip system to hold piping to throttle body
V1: Single MAP Sensor before throttle body, Nissan calls this a "Boost Sensor"
V2: Two MAP sensors, one located in the intake manifold and one before the throttle body
V1: Constant flow to oil cooler/warmer
V2: Electronically controlled flow to oil cooler/warmer
V1: Tune-able with Uprev and ECUtek
V2: ECUtek tuning only
