FastReligion Throttle Expander and Bead for V2 MR16DDt Throttle Body
Anyone with a v2 MR16DDT (2015+), who has tried to either custom make or install and aftermarket hard pipe onto the throttle will want this.
From the factory, the v2 throttle body uses a c-clip system to hold the IC pipe on. It tapers down to ~2.6 inches before tapering down to a curve inlet. This means there are no couplers the right size for the throttle, and there is no lip to hold the coupler on. This makes the coupler slowly slide off over time before BOOM, it pops off completely.
We fixed that.
This piece installs in minutes and will prevent coupler blow off ever again.
We hand lathe the ID of this ring to perfectly match the OD of the v2 throttle, test fitting on an actual throttle each time. Then we put a bead into the tube, creating a lip to hold the coupler on.
To install, simply coat the outside of the throttle in epoxy, then slide the ring on. Video of how to do this can be found below.
The ring perfectly fits under 2.75" couplers (the closest size to the throttles ID).
If you ever need to remove it; simply remove the throttle body and rest it face down in a tray of acetone for a few hours (purchasable at most home improvement stores), this will dissolve the epoxy and allow you to install the OEM connection.
